How refreshing to read Kim Moody’s column (“Give new boss at Riverview a chance to do his job,” Sept. 30).

Moody, executive director of the Disability Rights Center in Augusta, has been an advocate for people living with mental illness for more than 25 years. She and her team of advocates work tirelessly to maintain rights that enhance the quality of lives once considered hopeless. Kim’s support of Jay Harper and the significant improvements he has made at Riverview Psychiatric Center are proof that he is doing a good job in turning around Riverview to provide optimal patient care and a safe environment.

As a retiree from Disability Rights Center, I am proud to have worked for 10 years in an agency that is standing behind Jay Harper’s achievements.
