The person running against Rep. Karen Kusiak, D-Fairfield, hasn’t done a lot for me? Kusiak defeated him two years ago, chiefly because he had nothing to present as accomplishments in his previous two years.

On the other hand, what we have now in Kusiak is a person with just about the best credentials one could hope for in a representative in the Maine Legislature: intelligence, honesty, experience and leadership in local issues, and a superb record as a first-term legislator.

The other candidate seems to have found some of his old road signs in his garage and decided to run again. Fair enough, but not a convincing qualification. We have the person we need, and we must keep her. Karen Kusiak for Fairfield, Mercer and Smithfield, and beyond that for a more thoughtful and intelligent Legislature.
