Residents in Bingham will consider raising $669,657 in taxation to fund the municipal budget Monday at the Town Meeting.

The figure represents an increase of $5,781, or less than 1 percent, from last year’s $663,876.

Elections will take place from 12:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Quimby Middle School gymnasium and auditorium.

Residents will consider an increase in the town recreation budget from $7,000 last year to $14,000. The increase includes $5,000 for a playground project and $2,000 requested by the town of Moscow, according to the Town Meeting warrant.

The Old Canada Road Historical Society also is asking for a $1,000 increase in funding from last year.

No significant increases are being proposed for the public works, public safety or government administration budgets.

There are no contested elections. In uncontested races, incumbent Selectwoman Juliana Richard is seeking re-election for a three-year term. Elizabeth Brochu and Nancy MacDonald are seeking three-year terms on the board of directors of School Administrative District 13.
