SKOWHEGAN — Isaiah Vigue threw a three-hitter, striking out eight and walking none, to lead Skowhegan to a 6-1 win over Cony in the opening game of the season for both teams.

Isaac Witham had a pair of singles for Skowhegan (1-0), while Brendan Curran doubled.

Riley Boivin took the loss for Cony (0-1).

LAWRENCE 5, LEWISTON 4: Braden Ballard had a double, a single and an RBI to spark the Bulldogs to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A win in Fairfield.

Derek Bowen and Colby Lawrence each added RBI doubles for Lawrence (1-0). J.T. Nutting got the win on the mound, striking out six and walking two in five innings.

Evan Cox had two singles and an RBI for Lewiston (0-1) while Austin Wing chipped in with a two-run single.

SOFTBALL

WINSLOW 25, WATERVILLE 0, 5 innings: Sarah Guimond had four hits, including a home run and triple, to lead the Black Raiders to the KVAC B win in Winslow.

The Black Raiders had 21 hits and scored 10 runs in both the second and fourth innings. Guimond drove in two and scored four runs. Jenna Petrovic homered, doubled and scored three runs for Winslow (1-0), while Paige Veilleux hit two doubles, drove in a pair of runs and scored three.

Hillary Libby and Broghan Gagnon combined to throw a no-hitter for Winslow.

Waterville is 0-1.

LEWISTON 6, LAWRENCE 3: The Blue Devils scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to take the KVAC A win in Fairfield.

With Lewiston (1-0) ahead 4-3, Meagan Gosselin hit a two-run home run to give the Blue Devils some insurance runs. Kallie May and Jordan Mynahan each had two hits for Lewiston.

Sammy Knox tripled for Lawrence (0-1). Haley Holt hit a double for the Bulldogs.

NOKOMIS 25, MCI 0: Libby Dunivan had a triple, a double and a single and Chelsea Crockett added a home run and a single to lead the Warriors to the KVAC B win in Pittsfield.

Dunivan also picked up the win in the circle, tossing a three-hitter. Maci Leali had a double and two singles for Nokomis (1-0) while Caitlyn Tasker tripled.

Caroline Vigue, Jody Bickford and Miranda Kuespert each singled for MCI (0-1).
