WATERVILLE — Presented in partnership with the Maine Film Center during the 19th annual Maine International Film Festival, volume 21 of PechaKucha Night Waterville (PK WTVL) is scheduled for Thursday, July 14, at the American Legion. PK WTVL is Waterville’s connection to a global storytelling network of creative people sharing their creative muse in 20×20 (20 images showing for 20 seconds each).

For six years, PK WTVL has brought thousands of area residents together in celebration of passions and creativity. Community members are warmly invited to the 21st event scheduled to take place at the American Legion, 20 College Ave. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with a cash bar and light refreshments. PK presentations will begin at 7:20 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The PK WTVL v21 presenters are Gary Crocker, Laura Duffy, Bill Harmon, Shonna Humphrey, Ryan Kneeland, Tim LeCrone, Michaela Morris, Nick Runco and Brian Zemrak. The event will feature a wide variety of stories including itty bitty critters, animated film, youth mentorship, voices behind walls, film as catalyst for action, Bingo, and more. Chris Gaunce of Central Maine Motors will emcee. PechaKucha Night Waterville volume 21 will be a night of merriment, community, storytelling, creativity and celebration. PechaKucha Night started with Klein Dytham Architecture in Tokyo in 2003 and has turned into an international phenomenon with events happening in over 900 cities around the world. The 20×20 format makes presentations concise, keeps the evening moving at a rapid pace, and allows for plenty of chit-chat among participants and attendees.

PK WTVL is presented by a volunteer Team PK, Waterville Creates!, and the Waterville Public Library. The Colby College Center for the Arts & Humanities is the PK WTVL 2016-2017 season sponsor.
