AUGUSTA — House Majority Leader Jeff McCabe presented Town Manager Christine Almand with a legislative sentiment Tuesday for the town of Skowhegan for receiving the Maine Department of Labor’s Safety and Health Award for Public Employers, according to a news release from the Maine Legislature House Democratic Office.
“The SHAPE award epitomizes the hard work of Skowhegan in maintaining workplace health and safety,” said McCabe, D-Skowhegan, according to the release. “Our selectmen and women, department heads, and everyone who works for the town of Skowhegan have shown a daily commitment to excellence and it is no surprise that they earned this impressive award.”
This certification, also known as SHAPE, recognizes public sector organizations that voluntarily undertake a rigorous safety achievement program for their workplace.
