SKOWHEGAN — A Skowhegan woman was injured when her sports utility vehicle crashed into a house on Able Way Tuesday morning.
The woman, 38, whose name was not released, suffered a medical emergency that caused the 11:30 a.m. accident, Detective Sgt. Joshua King of the Skowhegan Police Department said.
King said the woman was visiting a house on Able Way before the crash happened.
The woman was tended to at the scene and later taken to Redington-Fairview General Hospital with possible back or neck injuries.
The SUV, a Kia, was pushed into the house on a narrow side street off Dartmouth Street, creating a large hole in the siding and damaging some of the building structure. The driver’s side airbag deployed as a result of the crash.
The woman’s neck was braced by emergency medical personnel before she was lifted onto a gurney and rolled into a waiting ambulance from the Anson, Madison, Starks Ambulance Service, which had been dispatched to the scene.
