Wayne Library Summer Festival and Lobster Roll Lunch is set for 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, on the Williams House Lawn on Old Winthrop Road in Wayne.
In conjunction with the festival, the Fifth annual Cary Memorial Library 5K Walk/Run will start at 9 a.m. at the elementary school.
Festival events will include:
• Silent auction from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Williams House. Bids will close at noon Wednesday, Aug. 13.
• A bake and book sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a selection of home-baked goods, crafts and a selection of choice book finds.
• Quilt raffle from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a brand new queen-sized quilt, “Follow the Blue Brick Road,” made by local quilters.
• Children’s lobster craft from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with continuous story time about the Maine coast.
• Loon calling contest for all ages at 11 a.m.
• Lobster roll lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. under the tent. Costs range from $5 to $18. To-go lunches are available.
Proceeds will benefit Cary Memorial Library.
The event, held rain or shine, is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
