Two women and a man pleaded guilty Thursday to conspiracy to distribute heroin and other drugs in central Maine.
Melina Snead, 24, of Rochester, N.Y., Nicole Truman, 32, of Augusta, and Jeffrey Johnson, 57, of Gardiner and entered their pleas at U.S. District Court in Bangor. The defendants face up to 20 years in prison, United States Attorney Halsey B. Frank said in a press release.
The three conspired to acquire heroin, fentanyl and crack in Rochester and distribute the drugs in Maine, Frank said in his statement. Snead sold the drugs in central Maine, while Johnson allowed people from Rochester to sell drugs from his residence, and he assisted in distributing, storing and transporting the drugs, Frank said. Truman transported drugs from storage to residences for distribution.
In addition to prison time, their sentences could include a $1 million fine and between three years and life on supervised release.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Department, with assistance from the Augusta Police Department.
