A motorcyclist died in a crash in Baldwin Monday afternoon.

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred on Route 113 (Pequawket Trail) near the Baldwin-Standish town line.

Deputies said the motorcyclist, heading west on a 2007 Suzuki, was following too closely to a 2016 Ford Focus that was slowing to make a left turn into a driveway. The motorcyclist hit the rear driver’s side of the car and slid into the eastbound lane and into the path of a Ford pickup owned by Nestle Waters of North America.

The sheriff’s office said it is not releasing names of the people involved because the crash is still under investigation.
