JACKMAN — KVCAP will offer a trip to the Skowhegan Fair on Friday, Aug. 10. The Somerset Explorer will start picking up those who have signed up at 10 a.m. at their homes.
Fair activities will include an Antique Power Show, tractor pull trials and agriculture. The Exhibition Hall opens at noon. Lunch on the midway planned for 1 p.m., followed by the tractor pulls.
The bus will leave the fair for Jackman at 2:30 p.m.
There is no cost for transportation because it is sponsored by MEHAF grant. Fair admission will cost $10; participants are responsible for their own spending money and their own lunch.

The Somerset Explorer seats up to 12 passengers and has wheelchair access. Those who want a ride any time other than this trip, can call KVCAP for a door-to-door ride. Seats must be reserved 24 hour in advance. The driver will take passengers where they want to go — just ask. The Somerset Explorer. Local service in and around Jackman is offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays. On Friday’s, the bus will depart Jackman at 9 a.m. and return around 3:30 p.m. Passengers can pend about three hours in Skowhegan or Bingham for errands, visits, lunch and more. Fares each way cost $1.25 in town and $3.25 down river.
