LEWISTON — Lewiston-Auburn has been selected to be the host of the 2015 Northeast Shrine Association Fall Field Days, an event that’s expected to draw thousands of Shriners from across New England and eastern Canada.
The Kora Shriners says the four-day event will be held from Sept. 17-20, 2015, and should attract more than 3,000 Shriners.
The event is held in Maine every 15 years, but it’s previously been in Portland because it has the facilities to handle the influx. Officials say Lewiston-Auburn can now accommodate the event.
Kora Shriners is part of Shriners International, a fraternity-based organization that supports the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
