Dave Dyer has returned for his second stint as Sports Copy Editor/Writer for the Kennebec Journal/Morning Sentinel. Dave was previously with the company in the same role from 2012-2015. He spent the past year doing freelance sports writing in Seattle, Washington. During that time, Dave had articles published by the Seattle Times, covering the Seattle Marathon, the Seattle Storm of the National Women’s Basketball League (WNBA) and Seattle Reign FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). He also collaborated with the U.S. Olympic website, teamusa.org, interviewing some of the key athletes of the 2016 Summer Olympics, including Michael Phelps, Simone Manuel, Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Sue Bird and Breanna Stewart. Before his first stint in Augusta, Dave was a Sports Writer for the Biddeford Journal Tribune from 2009-2012. A native Mainer, Dave was raised in North Waterboro and graduated from Massabesic High School. He is a graduate of Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, where he was a quarterback on the football team from 2004-2007. Dave lives in Belfast with his girlfriend, Brandi. They have a daughter, Scout, and a Yorkshire Terrier named Humphrey. In his spare time, Dave enjoys watching a good movie or television series. He also unapologetically watches professional wrestling.
