AUGUSTA — A young Lawrence team hung with Cony and quarterback Ben Lucas for the better part of four quarters Friday night at Alumni Field. But in the end, Lucas and the Rams prevailed, 34-26, in a key Pine Tree Conference Class B matchup. Cony is now 3-1 and Lawrence is 2-2.

MLB: Pittston’s Hanley still loves Red Sox despite injury during celebration
Lifelong Red Sox fan Greg Hanley of Pittston bought tickets to last Friday night’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays a while ago. On the drive down to Fenway Park with three friends, Hanley realized the Sox could clinch a playoff berth and he and his friends could watch them celebrate.
