    Law is not a hardship, for law-abiding citizens

    Why are voters being asked to overturn the new election law now in place? The new law requires residents of Maine to register at least two business days before election day. This time frame was put in place to eliminate voting by non-residents, as well as voters claiming more than one residence in Maine, by giving town and election officials sufficient time prior to election day to verify individual's resident status.

    Engage Maine students, don’t shun them

    Secretary of State Charlie Summers' voter fraud investigation that targeted college voters is reprehensible on several levels. It smacks of partisanship, the effort originating from a request by Republican Party Chairman Charles Webster, but that is not my primary concern.
