Military recruiters’ bill shouldn’t have failed

I was deeply upset to find out that my state representative, Ann Dorney, D-Norridgewock, led the charge against the bill to help military recruiters that was recently killed by a narrow vote in the Maine Legislature.

After watching the news and all the hearings that are going on in Congress, it seems to me that the Republican/tea party are not talking about what the American people want, which is jobs and getting the economy moving. They were elected to do the American people's business, not their own agenda.

Military a great career option for many youths

I was very disappointed to see that Winslow's state representative, Catherine Nadeau, a Democrat, voted against the bill to allow military recruiters the same access to Maine public schools as other career recruiters. The bill also would have prohibited schools from making military recruiters visit in civilian clothes, without their uniforms.
