Auburn man stuck in limbo on way to Alaska to face murder and rape charges
On June 3, Steven Downs left Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn and headed to the Strafford County Jail in Dover, New Hampshire. From there, federal marshals eventually brought him to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he now remains.
