‘The Way, Way Back’ is worth the trip
"The Way, Way Back" writers Nat Faxon and Jim Rash are the two Academy Award winning screenwriters who co-wrote, with Alexander Payne, George Clooney's wonderful "The Descendants." This gave them the power to go forth and give us for our viewing pleasure, "The Way, Way Back," a coming-of-age summer movie about Duncan, a 14-year-old New York boy lost in the miasma of uncertainty, bewilderment and adolescent angst of the smartphone age.

Antique car, tractor show set for Sidney
SIDNEY -- The Sidney Historical Society will hold its fourth annual Antique Car and Tractor Show from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at the Silver Spur Riding Club, 3130 West River Road. Registration will take place from 8 to 11 a.m.

Old Fort Western to host French and Indain War events
AUGUSTA -- Old Fort Western, the 1754 National Landmark fort, store and house on the Kennebec River, will host several area re-enactment groups Saturday, Aug. 3, and Sunday, Aug. 4. Those interested can experience what the life of a soldier was like during the French and Indian War.
