    Winthrop artist wins People’s Choice Award at the Harlow Gallery

    HALLOWELL -- Cynthia Ahlstrin of Winthrop recently won the People's Choice Award at the conclusion of Art 2012, the Harlow Gallery's 17th annual juried art show. Visitors were invited to vote for their favorite work of art. Ahlstrin won a $100 cash prize, sponsored by the Animal Wellness Center of Augusta, for her sculpture "Every Shoe Tells a Story."

    Maine’s Anni Clark to perform at Slates

    The Maine music scene is a richly varied tapestry of sounds and styles ... one of the most colorful strands in this weave belongs to singer-songwriter Anni Clark. This talented guitarist/singer has entertained audiences around the country for many years now and on Monday, June 25, she'll return to Slates in Hallowell.     Maine State Museum to host Girl Scout centennial exhibit
