It was with some disbelief that I watched the local TV coverage of discussion between our City Council and members of the public about the proposed ordinance to ban fireworks in Augusta.

As a resident of China, I would thank our select board for the work they have done and the sacrifice that it takes to serve. We elect the members and as with all boards, new members bring skill sets and views that are a healthy exchange adding to the quality of the board.

Restricting imports could balance economic field
On Oct. 25, the Sentinel told us since Jan. 2007, Maine has lost 8,800 manufacturing jobs, 6,100 construction jobs and 5,300 retail jobs.
