Obama administration places itself above God

There has been a powerful ad on EWTN (Catholic TV) for some time. It talks about critical social issues, e.g. infanticide (abortion), wholesome marriage, etc.

Liberal political rants by educators nothing new

The superintendent of Brunswick schools, Paul Perzanoski, has a great idea; and the Augusta superintendent, Connie Brown, backs him up. Let's send out a political rant to welcome back the Brunswick teachers and let's do it on the taxpayers' dime.

Stop bellowing slogans; start acting like adults

Yesterday an 11-12-year-old Christian girl in Pakistan named Rimsha Masih was jailed for allegedly burning pages of the Koran while sweeping a facility in a slum near Islamabad.

Declaration of conscience needed for LePage

Sixty-two years ago Sen. Margaret Chase-Smith, in her Declaration of Conscience speech, denounced Senate bully Joseph McCarthy for misleading our nation and contributing to the partisanship that derailed the United States from addressing the serious issues of the day. McCarthy gradually lost traction in the Senate and our nation's elected officials began to work on the legislation necessary to get our country back on track.

    Government shouldn’t discriminate on marriage

LePage would help us by acting like gentleman

Kudos and great thanks to Superintendent Paul Perzanoski of Brunswick. He has done what all educators are charged with doing -- called a bully a bully and asked him to stop.

Antibiotics seemed to be miracles in old days

On page A5 in the Aug. 20 newspaper, Daniel J. Stone spoke of a battle with microbes (commentary). It makes me remember, so long ago, coming up to the small room that served as the ward nursing station. It was filled with nurses looking across the hall to a tiny private room as a woman patient was being given a massive dose of penicillin. What would happen? She had a major infection. She was unconscious. She was dying.

Michaud wind power votecan help attract investors

I would like to applaud U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud, D-2nd District, for joining the rest of the Maine delegation in cosponsoring the Incentivizing Offshore Wind Power Act (H.R. 3238 in the House and S. 1397 in the Senate). This bipartisan bill sends a clear signal to investors that America is open for business and committed to producing clean and domestic energy.
